Fleet of Vehicles - Thompsons Touring & Safaris transports you safely around Southern Africa

   
• 
 Our fleet, which is owned by Thompsons Touring & Safaris, consists of approximately 70 vehicles comprising Toyota Quantum’s, Mitsubishi Rosa’s, Marco Polo Volare coaches, and Open Safari vehicles.
   
• 
 All vehicles are kept for a maximum of 5-6 years or 400 000km. Our vehicles are regularly serviced (according Manufacturers specification) by an approved agent.
   
• 
 All vehicles are fitted with individual passenger seatbelts
   
• 
 All vehicles have the necessary passenger carrier permits and are driven by staff that hold valid public driving permits, both of which are reviewed annually.
   
• 
 All vehicles undergo an annual fitness test which is required in order to renew  the annual licenses.
   
• 
 All vehicles are covered by a comprehensive insurance policy (via AON). We also have public and passenger liability cover (AON) of ZAR200 million per incident.
   
• 
 Whilst we endeavour to carry out every service on our vehicles, the need may arise for us to sub hire an outside company. In this instance we would utilize the services of contracted companies, ensuring that they operate on the level as we do. (passenger safety, Insurance covers, legal permits, etc).
   
• 
 We have a comprehensive fleet policy that includes a bi-annual safety audit of our fleet and procedures.
   
• 
 All of our vehicles are now covered by Netcare 911.  This ensures that in the case of a medical emergency, passengers will be transferred to the nearest private hospital facility that caters for their specific needs and ensures speedy and efficient handling of all emergencies.
   
• 
 Our vehicles are all fitted with satellite tracking systems so we can monitor the speed and whereabouts of the vehicle.
